In Colombia we don’t really celebrate El día de los muertos, but after learning about the importance of this holiday, I decided to create an altar at home to honor and celebrate the life of my abuelita Isabel Sánchez. I now teach my students about El día de los muertos.
Several years ago I created this paper craft ofrenda for my students and because it has been such a success in my Spanish classes, I now want to share it with you. It’s educational, fun and easy to put together.
